Why, IG, why? 😭

As some of you may know by now, my IG account @growingwiththetans was suddenly suspended on Tuesday morning, and I still can’t figure out why.

1049am: I received this email but didn’t see it until I tried to access my IG account and was notified that it was suspended. All I posted that morning was a photo of my cup of tea, and a Shopee voucher link, which I’ve posted on numerous occasions, without any issues. My IG account is so ordinary and harmless, I really don’t see how I could have violated any community guidelines! 😭😭😭

1236pm: I submitted an appeal.

It’s been two days of not having access to my account, and I am so worried that I will never get my account back again! I have so many memories on it, from when I was teaching, way before I had kids, all through my IVF experiences, pregnancies, childbirth, our holidays, our expat experiences in Adelaide and Jakarta, and most importantly, the photos and videos of our kids as they grew. I mean, that’s literally why my account is called growing with the Tans!

I cannot imagine having to start a new account again, especially without all my previous memories, because it’s been more than 12 years of posts. 😭😭😭

I’m currently using my Bookstagram account (@readingwiththetans) to post my IGS, but it’s just not quite the same.

If anyone has had a similar experience, please tell me what you did to get your account restored, and how long it took. I’m really very sad that this has happened!

Praying really hard that my account will be restored quickly. I really don’t want to have to start a new account! 😢
