Things have been rather quiet on this blog, because we’ve been away on a short family trip to Penang. I think I’m still pretty much in holiday mode, because I can’t seem to get down to writing at all, despite having plenty of things to work on. Oops.
Today, I’m thankful that we were able to go on this family trip together, and spend some much-needed quality time together, just the three of us. Noah, in particular, has been craving some time with his daddy dearest, while I’ve been in serious need of some me-time. I’ve been feeling as though I’m solo parenting, even though C is physically at home, because he’s been so busy with work that he’s glued to his laptop when he gets home from the office.
On this trip, even though C brought his work laptop along, he never once had to open it, although he did take some work calls, and sent some work emails via his phone. He took over bathing duties for Noah, brought him swimming in the hotel’s pool almost daily, and I could just sit by the pool with a book. That was a real treat for me, and I finally managed to finish the book that I’ve been trying to read for months!
I’ll definitely be sharing more about where we stayed, ate, and did, but in the meantime, here’s a photo of Noah relaxing in the hammock, which I feel, best sums up our trip.
Just chillin’
