We were recently approached by Toddle to check out their online store, and I was impressed by the wide range of items they carry. They have six categories, but I think their most popular one should be ‘Play and Learn’, as they have so many toys that they actually have seven sub-categories! You can also choose to browse by popular designers, if you have a specific toy brand in mind. As you can tell, I spent a lot of time surfing the ‘Play and Learn’ category, trying to decide what to get for Noah.

For some strange reason, I occasionally had trouble loading the site on my phone, but the website worked perfectly well on my iPad and laptop, so maybe it was just my phone trying to stop me from doing some late night online shopping. Anyway, I was eyeing quite a few of the Melissa & Doug toys, but in the end, I chose two space-related items, the Hape Space City and Melissa & Doug Solar System Floor Puzzle, since Noah is really into space these days.

To say that Noah was thrilled when he saw the Hape Space City would be an understatement. He enjoys playing with marble runs whenever we come across them at shopping centres, so it was a dream come true for him to finally own one. He eagerly helped to paste the glow-in-the-dark stickers on the pieces, then waited impatiently while I built his chosen design for him.
We have been trying out the different designs in the instruction manual, and I’m trying to teach Noah to follow the instructions, so that he can build on his own. C, on the other hand, has been trying to teach Noah to build his own designs, because that would mean endless play possibilities. Both are great ways for Noah to learn, although Noah keeps accidentally knocking down his partially completed designs, or building structures that don’t allow the marbles to pass through properly. He definitely has a lot to learn before he can play with the Hape Space City on his own!

Playing with the Hape Space City
Noah has been so obsessed with the Hape Space City that he plays with it every chance he gets. It took me two days to convince him to try out the Melissa & Doug Solar System Floor Puzzle! He knows the order of the planets, so that helped him to get the puzzle done a little faster. I like that the pieces are large and sturdy, making them easy to handle. They also fit easily together, unlike some of the other puzzles we’ve tried, which means preschoolers like Noah can work independently on the puzzle.

I haven’t done much shopping for the twins, because I figured they could just use Noah’s hand-me-downs (yes, Meimei will be wearing Noah’s old rompers), but I decided to take a look at the ‘Infant Toys’ and ‘Books & Media’ categories just for fun. Once I started browsing, I couldn’t stop! I had to keep reminding myself that Noah has more than enough hand-me-down items for both babies, but in the end, I decided to get the Tiny Love Take Along Mobile and Sabuda & Reinhart Pop Ups – Baby Signs book for them.
We already have the Tiny Love Sweet Island Dreams Mobile, which kept Noah mesmerised for long periods when he was a baby, so I thought a portable one might be helpful when we are in the car, or when one of them has to be in the stroller. Also, I taught Noah some simple sign language when he was young, so that he could communicate with us, and thought that this book would allow Noah to be involved in teaching the babies some sign language too. He was quite fascinated by the book, and I had to keep reminding him to be gentle with the pop-ups.
Finally, I checked out the ‘Diaper Bags & Totes’ sub-category, (found under ‘Gear’), and couldn’t resist getting myself the Skip Hop Pronto Changing Station – Triangles. A friend of mine has the Chevron one, and I thought it was very pretty and useful. Mummy deserves something nice too, right?
For the twins
There are so many things to look at on Toddle, and I like that they stock a wide variety of items, and not just toys alone. Once I had decided on the items I wanted, I created an account, put everything into my shopping cart, and checked my loot out. Easy peasy. I had some questions about my order, and was able to use the Chat function at the bottom right corner of the website to talk to a Toddle staff in real time. That’s what good and prompt customer service is about, I say. No need to call a number and be put on hold for ages!
Oh and for those of you who like your online shopping to be delivered quickly, I think Toddle will make you very happy. I placed my order on Monday, and the items were delivered the very next afternoon. I received an SMS checking on my availability, and the items were delivered shortly after I confirmed that I was at home to receive them.
Shopping on Toddle was definitely a breeze, and I especially like the fact that the products they offer are from reputable and well-known brands, so you can be assured that you’re getting good quality items.
PS. I’m a strong believer of #goodthingsmustshare, so here is a list of things from Toddle that we either already own and like, or would like to get. You’re welcome. If you see something you like, I highly recommend getting it immediately, before the item goes out of stock, and you end up spending days regretting not checking out your shopping cart earlier. Trust me, I know this from experience.
Quite a few of the popular Melissa & Doug items are out of stock at the moment, but you can email Toddle or use their Contact Us page to enquire about the items that you’re interested in, and they will notify you when the stock arrives. I think a safe bet would be end-August, but you won’t be able to use my discount code by then, so start shopping now! What discount code, you ask?
