PSLE Care Kit 2024 (Plus Motivational poem)

N is perpetually fidgeting when he’s studying, so one day, while I was on prison guard duty (ie sitting behind him so that he doesn’t run away/daydream during his revision), I decided to get him a fidget cube.

One thing led to another, because you know, Shopee has a lot of interesting things, and before I knew it, I ended up buying items to make a PSLE Care Kit for N and some of his friends.

  1. Transparent plastic pencil case (apparently necessary for the PSLE, but a ziploc bag would probably also work)

  2. Fidget cube (to keep fidgety kids busy)

  3. Positive Pineapple / Positive Sumo Citrus / Positive Apple / Positive Carrot (to amuse/encourage the kids)

  4. Vitamin C gummies (to boost their immunity)

I wrote a short note and added a poem that I found online (because I didn’t have it in me to write my own poem to encourage the kids), and folded it into an origami heart from muscle memory (thanks to years of writing letters in an all-girls’ school) but you can follow these step-by-step instructions if you’re keen.

Hopefully, the kids will appreciate this little PSLE Care Kit that I put together at the last minute!

The Power of Perseverance

When the going gets tough, don't give up, Keep pushing forward, never stop. Perseverance is the key to success, So never give in, never give up. With each challenge faced, a lesson learned, In every setback, resilience earned. For in the journey of learning, highs and lows, It's the strength within that truly shows. With every hurdle, a chance to grow, To rise above, to let ambition flow. For dreams are achieved through effort and grit, In the face of adversity, refuse to quit. So keep your eyes on the prize, my friend, With determination, your goals you'll transcend. For in the pursuit of knowledge, you'll find, The power within to conquer any bind. So march on, brave soul, with courage unfurled, You're destined for greatness in this vast world. With every step forward, you pave the way, For a brighter tomorrow, come what may.
