Father’s Day this year (actually, I think it’s every year) is a rather quiet affair for us, although I do make an effort to give C a handmade present every year. I think it’s more meaningful than a generic store-bought gift, plus erm, it’s cheaper!
C got a DIY Map t-shirt for his first Father’s Day gift two years ago, and Noah is still more than happy to drive his vehicles all over C’s back whenever he wears that tee. Last year, because Noah was older and able to actually help in making the gift, we made two simple cards for C: one with Noah’s handprints, and another with his footprints. I added some poems I found online, then laminated both cards back-to-back. It was really simple, yet a good keepsake gift, since Noah’s hands and feet would only be that size for a short while.
This year, I decided to recycle the handprints and footprints idea, and was amazed at how much bigger Noah’s hands and feet have gotten. He was a lot more involved this year, choosing the colours he wanted for the prints, dictating what he wanted to say to Daddy, and even writing a few words on the cards himself. What a difference a year makes!

Noah loves Monsters Inc these days, so he wanted to make a Mike Wazowski too, which turned out pretty cute, if I may say so myself.

I love this card!
This year, some of the mums in the Singapore Parent Bloggers group came together to create a special Father’s Day tribute video. We went to RWS for the secret filming mission, and it was a lot harder than expected to film a group of kids saying, “Happy Father’s Day!”. Noah appears thrice in the video, so spot him if you can!

I did some last minute “work” and took a short video of Noah answering some questions about Daddy. I thought it would make a nice Father’s Day gift, and I had to try very hard not to laugh when Noah gave some really funny answers!
Q & A with Noah
Happy Father’s Day, dearest! Thank you for taking the time to bring Noah out to play when I need to rest. I know Noah really enjoys his special time with you, and that he misses you tremendously when you travel for work. It’s been very tough on you, having to shuttle between Jakarta and Singapore every week, and I know you miss the nightly tickles and cuddles with Noah whenever you’re away. Thank you for working so hard for our family, and I look forward to parenting our three kids together. It’s going to be tough, but we’ll get through it, one day at a time. Thank you for all that you do, and we love you lots!
