The weather has been unbearably hot recently, and I’ve been wanting to bring Noah out for some water play, but I realised that I didn’t know that many water play areas! I turned to the Singapore Mom Bloggers for help, and compiled this list of 20 water play areas in Singapore, so that everyone can benefit from it. Have fun!
20 Water Play Areas in Singapore (In Alphabetical Order)
1. 112 Katong
The water play area at 112 Katong offers kids plenty of room to run around amidst water sprays, fountains, swings, and slides. Located on the 4th floor of the shopping mall, it is a popular destination for families living in the vicinity.

2. Bishan Park
The Ang Mo Kio-Bishan Park Water Playground is the perfect place to unwind in a beautiful environment that has surprising opportunities for kids to stay active, get wet, and learn about science too. Unlike other water parks that feature fountains and slides, this one has a more understated, simple yet smart design. Best of all, it’s suitable for the very young (as long as they can sit up) to older kids – with features that allow you to touch, splash, pour, climb, manipulate (sluice gates and ropes), as you observe the nature and movement of water… and have fun!

3. Causeway Point
The kids’ wet area inside the shopping mall is not as popular as the outdoor playground (Level 2), perhaps because it is tucked away on the top level of the mall (Level 7). You can spot it next to Bagus Halal food court, especially if you are having a meal there, or catching a movie at the Cathay cinema nearby. Nevertheless, your kids can still enjoy both the wet and dry play areas in this shopping mall, which is just next to Woodlands MRT station, while you have a good time shopping.

4. Changi City Point
The 3 House is another alternative for water play if you are residing in the east. Located on the third floor of Changi City Point, it comprises both a playground and a water play area. The playground is more suitable for older kids as there are ropes courses, which require coordination skills from the children. The main draw is the water play area, and there is a toddler-friendly spot for younger kids if they prefer to just splash around.
There is a common shower area, and parents or caregivers can relax by the benches lined along the sides. The food court is located just outside the 3 house and if your child can play independently, you can relax with a cup of coffee while watching him play.

5. Gardens by the Bay
There are actually two water play areas in Gardens by the Bay: one for toddlers, and the other for 6 to 12 years old.
The water play area is for children who love splashing around in water. Hydro vaults with splash buckets are linked to sensors which detect the movement of children, and these provide endless frolicking fun. Just next to it is a covered canopy where adults who prefer to stay dry can relax while keeping an eye on the children. There is also a pretty large shower area just beside the water play area.

6. IMM
Water playgrounds are always a great relief for us in sunny Singapore. The water playground at IMM is located at the Garden Plaza, on level 3. There are buckets, water cannons and fountains. The fountains are interactive and you can control how and/or when the water comes out of the fountain. The floor is rubber-padded so kids can run around freely. Unfortunately, there is no shelter at the waterplay area, so it can get really hot on a sunny afternoon. We love that there are plenty of benches around the area and kids can also choose to play at the dry playground which is just next to the water play area. There is also a garden nearby where children can learn about fruits and their plants.

7. Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden
Jacob Ballas Children Garden is a garden made just for kids, and you can’t even enter without a child by your side! The waterplay area at Jacob Ballas is not very big, nor does it contain many interesting gadgets or structures, like some of the other wet playgrounds in the zoo or shopping malls, but it is sufficient for young kids to scream, splash, and run around. Remember to bring your own pails and toys! The water jets and fountains have a time limit, so they stop after a while, and you’ll have to touch a sensor to re-activate it. I’d suggest that you take time to explore the many small dry play areas too.

8. Jurong Bird Park
Jurong Bird Park opened its water-play area, called ‘Birdz of Play’, back in 2011. It’s a great addition I think, as kids naturally enjoy water-play fun, anytime, anywhere. As usual, don’t forget to bring along the kiddos’ spare clothes and towels, and of course, apply some sunscreen lotion too! Have fun!

9. Kallang Wave Mall / Sports Hub
One of our favourite water playgrounds is the Sports Hub “Splash-N-Turf”. Designed with a whimsical theme, there are water slides and turnstiles to thrill the young ones. There is also a small kids’ pool (0.5M) next to the main water play area which is great for young babies and toddlers to waddle in. The special part about this playground is the Lazy River (1.0M). With a small fee of $2 per day (unlimited usage), the family can enjoy a leisurely float around the Lazy River. This place is unsheltered, thus it’s best to play there either in the early morning or late evening. Shower facilities with warm showers are nearby too.

10. Lot One
The Lot 1 water play area is great for young toddlers. It may not have wading pools and slides like the newer water play areas, but the water jet tunnels and water guns are enough to keep the little ones amused… and wet!

Lot One 21 Choa Chu Kang Ave 4 Singapore 689812 10am – 10pm Website HERE
11. Lower Seletar Reservoir Park
The water play area at Lower Seletar Reservoir park is one of the lesser known water play areas, which means it tends to be less crowded compared to the more popular spots. There’s an open area with fountains, as well as a shallow wading area with “rivers” and water mills, which is great for toddlers to explore. Go in the mornings or evenings as there is little shade and it can get extremely hot in the afternoons!

12. Marina Barrage
It’s been years since we discovered this place, and I’m still in love with it for the high-tech gallery, large water play space, and the varied and unpredictable fountains—you never know when you’ll get sprayed or soaked. The downside is that there’s little access to food unless you want to eat at a seafood restaurant (there are currently two). So bring along some bites and drinks if you’re planning for a longer stay. Do also bring towels, swimsuits, a spare change of clothes, slippers, and anything else you would normally bring to a water playground.

13. Nex
KidzPlay at Nex is a great place for older kids between 5-12 years to expend some energy on a sunny afternoon. It is an integrated wet and dry playground, lined with numerous water sprinklers, water guns, slides, and even a giant water bucket. It’s definitely a good idea to bring a change of clothes or clothe the kids in bathing suits, so that they can enjoy themselves thoroughly at this water wonderland!

14. Northpoint
The waterplay area is located at the roof. It’s a little small, but good enough for little kids to cool down in the hot weather.

15. Punggol Waterway
The Punggol Waterway is an excellent place for families to chill at as there is a small and cosy water play area for children while the adults can enjoy the serenity of the greenery around it. Yes it is free and free carpark is available as well.

16. Sembawang Shopping Centre
The kids’ wet area is situated next to the dry playground in Sembawang Shopping Centre. Kids can enjoy both types of play at the same time, and you can look after your kids easily. Even though this splash park is not next to Sembawang MRT station, there are scheduled shuttle buses to the mall. We love to go there as we can shop at Daiso and Giant after playing, or have a meal at Astons.

17. Singapore Zoo
A tropical animal-themed slide and spray shack, the water playground located in Rainforest Kidzworld within the Singapore Zoological Gardens features an array of colourful sprayers, climbers, a variety of zippy water-flushed slides and tubes. Above all, kids (and some adults) look forward to having the jumbo water bucket rain a tropical downpour on them at regular intervals! All around the playground, tower showers, snaking water shooters, rain arches, and concealed floor fountains make it virtually impossible to stay dry, no matter how hard one tries. If you’ve forgotten to bring an extra set of clothes, you can easily purchase swimwear and lovely T-shirts at the nearby gift shop. We also appreciate that there are child-friendly shower facilities, diaper changing facilities, and a nursing room within the Rainforest Kidzworld itself.

18. Tampines One
The Tampines One rooftop animal-themed water playground is perfect for young children, because it has a good range of different water play areas. If your child is more cautious, he may prefer playing with the smaller water spouts in both the shaded and open sections. For more adventurous children, they will definitely enjoy playing at the two adorable slides, and splashing in the shallow pool there. There are shower facilities near one of the two escalators, so do remember to bring the necessary toiletries, towels, and a change of clothes.

19. Vivocity
Vivo has two water play areas, one of which is the Play Court on level 3, between Marché, Food Republic and Daiso, which features a wide expanse of shallow water which is free to all. They have even set up a little water boat area for kids. There is also a small water feature, with dancing spouts of water, next to the playground on level 2. Both areas do not have a shower area, but toilets are readily available nearby.

20. Westgate
Beat the summer heat with your little ones at Singapore’s largest thematic outdoor playground – Westgate Wonderland! The larger than life dry playgrounds and wet activity area will definitely allow them to expand their energy. Equipped with full washing up facilities, this would be my best choice to go for some water play fun!
