Noah’s a very ‘chill’ baby, in terms of hitting all his developmental milestones, so we just try our best to give him whatever encouragement he needs, and wait patiently for him to get there on his own.
This morning, at the indoor playground, he finally plucked up the courage to climb up the rather steep stairs, turn around, and slide down, all by himself! It’s taken him four visits to decide that he can do it without my help, and I was so happy to see him confidently going up and down, without once whining for me to help him. *proud mama moment*
Climbing up and going down, all by himself!
I’m thankful that we’ve found this lovely indoor playground at Koorong, a lovely Christian bookstore, that’s a short walk from our serviced apartment here in Adelaide, because it keeps Noah entertained for quite some time. Best part? It’s free! There’s a larger play area, with a ball pit, but there are usually quite a few older kids there, and they can get quite excited, jumping around in the ball pit, which scares Noah a little. This smaller play area has a slide, two trucks, and two activity panels, and it’s good for the younger ones.
I’m also thankful that Noah is more confident about climbing up and down the slide, and he’s been climbing down from our bed and sofa here with
ease too recently. In fact, he’s now trying to climb up onto the bed and sofa, and saying, “Up up up!” as he struggles to stick his little leg up. Both are still too high for him at the moment, but at least he’s trying! His teachers at Gymnademics will be proud of him. 😉
